How do monthly cut plans work?
You use 1 monthly cut plan when you create a new cut plan from a set of window measurements.
That monthly cut plan includes all available planning results for that same job input: single-roll, multi-roll, and roll-size options.
You can reopen the results, review the cut plan, print diagrams, change roll-size views, and compare available options without using another monthly cut plan.
What is a monthly cut plan?
You use 1 monthly cut plan when you create a new cut plan from a set of window measurements. Any changes in window quantities, sizes, or rows will result in another monthly cut plan being used.
What does one monthly cut plan include?
One monthly cut plan gives you access to the available planning results for that same job input, including single-roll, multi-roll, and roll-size options.
You can reopen the results, review the cut plan, print diagrams, change roll-size views, and compare available options without using another monthly cut plan.
When do I use another monthly cut plan?
You use another monthly cut plan only when you change the job inputs, such as adding or removing windows, changing dimensions, or changing quantities, and then create a new cut plan.
What's the "window sizes / job" limit?
It's the maximum number of unique window size rows you can include in a single cut plan. If you have repeats, use quantity.
If you hit the limit, split the job into phases (for example by floor, elevation, or room group).
What's the difference between single-roll and multi-roll?
Single-roll: plan the job on one roll width.
Multi-roll: split a job across multiple rolls/widths to reduce waste or match real inventory.
What are "Custom rolls"?
Custom rolls let you enter the roll widths you actually have (and optional remaining lengths) so the plan is built around film on hand.
This is the Shop-tier differentiator and helps reduce over-ordering and waste.
Is this tool for architectural window film only?
It's built for flat glass installs (residential and commercial). If you're mainly automotive but do flat glass jobs too, this is still useful for planning cuts and footage.
What's the difference between this and window tint estimating software?
Estimating tools focus on pricing and invoices. Precision Film Systems focuses on the cut plan: roll usage, linear feet, waste, and a visual layout installers can follow.
I already have partial rolls in stock. Can I use those to build a cut plan?
Absolutely. With the Shop plan you can add one or more rolls (or remnants) from previous jobs so plans are built around what you already have.
Choose Custom mode and enter your roll/remnant sizes. If remnants run out, you'll get standard-roll metrics for what to order next.
Will the app tell me how many rolls of film I need for the job?
The app gives total linear feet needed for the selected roll size. Use that number to order a partial roll (if allowed) or multiple rolls.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The app runs in your browser on desktop and mobile.
It's also a Progressive Web App (PWA), so you can install it on your phone if you want quick access.
Do add-on monthly cut plans expire?

They're used only after your plan's included monthly cut plans are used.
Do add-on monthly cut plans renew monthly?

Do monthly cut plans roll over?
